Our jobs are a more meaningful representation of change than the industry and organizational change often discussed as healthcare transformation (and just as often as strategy), because it makes clear the impact of healthcare change on us.
The Transforming, as compared to transformation, exposes a big problem in how organizations work: always planning for some future state, while never quite recognizing it's the present moment that requires full attention.
That problem is a gigantic one. It's perhaps even the problem worth solving toward in bureaucratic organizations.
And most acutely, at least for us and our development, this distraction of the future cons us into believing that development is something we do only to prepare for that future, when in fact, development is also necessary for achieving success in the present moment.
